Backlund will need to have a hell of a season to make the Swedish squad. They look like the team to beat on paper.

I hope Brodie gets 3 yrs at $2.5-3MM per although I'm guessing he's looking for 3.5 per.

I think three-years at $3 million is fair and if that's on the table I think he'd probably take it.

That seems like an offer that should have been on the table by now, unless Feaster is that adamant on only locking up Brodie for 2 years. is Brodie looking more in the 4 year - $14 mil range?

If Brodie wants term, which is likely the hold up, I'm fine if they give it to him but without a full season in the league yet, he's not going to get a big contract. 4 years at $2.5 per sounds fair to me.

4 for 14 I could live with minus the good old ntc.

That's about the time it will take for the team to start seeing the light. So gives him a look at where things are going and flames the time to see if he's what they need.

In the system only wotherspoon looks like a top 4. Seiloff could be a 4-5, taking butler type minutes possibly

That's one thing Feaster definitely is doing right IMO, all the NMC/NTC's we have were from the Darryl Suter era.

I think Feaster is adamant on 2 years max because he wants a full year before he becomes a UFA to get him that long term contract. 3 years will land us right into a potential Ryan Suter fiasco. If 2 just doesn't cut it, I say ink him t0 a 5 year deal but Brodie would be nuts to take a 5 year deal at 15.0 mill. Don't think his agent would let him go that cheap into UFA years. I think for Brodie's sake they comply for a 2 year 5.0mill deal & force that big payday in 2 years. Chances are, if he keeps progressing the way he has, Flames wont be able to cart him the big bucks quick enough.

Hopefully someone offer sheets him and we get a first round pic or two.

The offer sheet is the big risk with Brodie. Some team might offer him 4million per for 5 years or something like that. In which case, I'd say, take the picks. But I'd rather they get him signed to a reasonable contract.
